This project is situated on a beautiful green belt next to 康誥坑 Creek in 汐止, Taipei. With an existing wood-fenced egg shape structure on site, additional space is required to maximize current reception capacity and its functionality. The challenge lies in a smooth transition from the existing structure (and surroundings) to the new expansion.

Reflecting glasses are used as the new building’s exterior to create a transparent illusion with minimum impact to the current site. Those glasses conceal the structure during the day by mirroring the nature around and have a capability to reveal the intricate interior lighting during the night.

Two structures, the egg shape old and the square new, are being linked together with porticoes and a vast raised platform. Although both are individually different in exterior material and shape, the integration effectively showcases the true characteristics of each while complimenting the other’s existence.

The interior architecture emphasizes on thoughtful window and balcony placement to add extra visual dimension to the overall structure appeal. With the beautiful creek and green slopes as the backdrop, a dynamic dialogue will come to life anytime soon.
